In the heart of the Suffolk countryside, Buxhall is a great base for getting around East Anglia. You can reach the north Norfolk coast or London in around 2 hours.
Southwold, famed for its beach huts, pier, lighthouse and Adnams beer is around an hour away with Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings nearby. Medieval Lavenham and historic Bury St Edmunds are only 20 minutes away.
Our nearest town is Stowmarket (3 miles), home to the Food Museum (formerly the Museum of East Anglian Life) and hosts various events throughout the year while Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre has an indoor swimming pool, gym and assorted activities including PlayWorld for children up to 12 in the summer.
A popular destination for a day out is Hollow Trees Farm at Monks Eleigh (20 mins). Children love the farm trail where they can feed the animals and play in Pogal's Pit with rope swings, climbing poles and more. The farm shop sells home-grown and local produce which is also served in their café.
Jimmy's Farm on the edge of Ipswich is also easily reached via the A14.
Cyclists can enjoy the country lanes or head to Thetford Forest (45mins) for off-road biking. Or you can swing through the trees at Go Ape, also in Thetford Forest.
Of course there are lots of lovely walks in the area too and the village playing field has children's play equipment is just a few minutes walk away.
We are delighted our local pub has recently re-opened as a family run Italian restaurant, La Vista @ The Crown. Call them on 07460214026 to book.
